The Basics
Name: Logan
Code Name: Wolverine
Age: Exact age unknown
Affiliation: X-Men
Mutant Characteristics: Healing Factor, Bone Claws encased in Adamintium, Heightened Senses
Mutation: Wolverine is a mutant with a number of enhancements to his physiology. Wolverine possesses heightened senses, making him capable of seeing things at a maximum distance greater than that of a normal human. His hearing is enhanced in a similar manner, and he is able to recognize people and objects by scent, even if that person or object is hidden. Logan can use these enhanced senses to track anyone, with an impressive degree of success.
He possesses retractable bone claws that are housed in his forearms, they are part of his skeleton system. At will Wolverine can release these claws through his skin between the knuckles on each hand. The skin between the knuckles tears and bleeds, but bleeding is quickly halted by his healing factor. The claws are naturally sharp and tougher than that of normal human bone structure. This allows Wolverine to be able to cut through most types of flesh and natural materials. These claws and the rest of the bones in his body have been coated with the metal, Adamantium, which is unbreakable. The claws can now cut through almost any material without any fear of damage to the claws.
Lastly, Wolverine possesses an accelerated healing factor based on his physiology. While most normal humans heal injuries over a long period of time, Wolverine's healing factor speeds up that natural process. Wolverine's natural healing has been advanced to the point where he can heal extensive injuries such as gunshots in a matter of minutes. This factor gives him a higher resistance to poisons and toxins, and he can recover from almost any injury. The more extensive the injury, the longer the healing time will be. Wolverine is not immortal, however. If the injuries are extensive enough, especially if they result in the loss of vital organs, large amounts of blood, and/or loss of physical form (such as having flesh burned away by fire or acid), Logan can die. Wolverine, again due to his healing factor, has an enhanced resistance to disease, as well as an extended life span. Despite Wolverine's chronological age, he is still as healthy and physically fit as a man in his prime.

The Character
Personality: Logan often comes across as a brutish man, prone to rage and a surly atitude. While a loner at heart, he's slowly learning how to let people in. Used to doing what he wants, teamwork can sometimes be a pain for all involved, given his quick temperament, but he’s learning to adapt. Making friends often seems impossible but those few he has he is very loyal to. They're the ones who know that there's also a 'softer' side to him. Once his trust and loyalty is earned, only outright betrayal can change it. He's man of his word and will honor the promise he makes, even at the cost of his own life. Given to berserker rage in combat, he doesn’t hesitate to dispense lethal force, and can be quite dangerous and unpredictable at times, especially in fight.
Physical Description: Logan sports the casual look – jeans, boots, t-shirt, flannel shirt, belt and a leather jacket. He does have clothing though for all occasions. These outfits include: Gis for Martial Arts training, Ghilli suits for sniping, BDUs of various designs for combat, and finally a Tuxedo for playing 007
History: In the early 1880's a child by the name of James Howlett was
born. As a child James was a frail and sick boy. His allergies didn't allow him to go out and play much. His father had requested that a twelve year old girl be brought to their estate. That girl was named Rose and she was to be a friend and playmate to James. She read to him and looked after him. Along with the grounds keeper's son, Dog, James and Rose were the only children on the hill where the estate was. They had become close friends and played together as much as possible but Dog slowly grew away from them. Dog's father, the groundskeeper was named Thomas Logan, he was an alcoholic and abuse his son.
Over the next few years Dog started to follow in his father's footsteps, becoming cruel and heartless. After a big fight, Dog killed James's K-9 companion which resulted in the Logan getting kicked off the Howlett estate. In a fit of rage and anger Thomas Logan and his son entered the estate armed. They then took Rose hostage and demanded that she take them to the masters' bedroom. There the elder Logan tried to persuade James' mother, Elizabeth, to leave with them. Before they could leave John entered the room and discovered them together. In a rage of hate and dislike Thomas shot John as James walked into the room. Seeing his father shot and killed shocked him so much that it triggered his latent mutant abilities. His claws extended and continued through Thomas.
After his mother shunned him for his unusual abilities, he fled the house. Rose followed to see what she could do. She found James outside the house on the ground and cold. She brought him to the barn in order to try and warm him up. Not knowing what to do Rose brought James to his grandfather house. He ended up giving them cash and told them never to come back again. Rose took James and went to British Columbia looking for a place that they could live in peace. Rose remembered her father talking of quarries in the Northern frontiers and she figured that would be a good place for them to start looking.
Making it to a quarry, they met a man named Smitty who was the foreman. That is when Rose gave James the name Logan to hide his true identity. By the second summer there Logan was providing for both Rose and himself. He had trained himself to be a fine hunter and he also worked hard at the quarry. Smitty even gave him a new job in demolitions. Shortly after that Smitty asked Rose to marry him. The proposal upset Logan but he finally realized that Smitty did indeed love Rose. Logan then helped Smitty get money for tickets away from the quarry, by throwing a tough man fight. Before Smitty and Rose could leave Dog showed up. At the request of Logan's grandfather he was to kill Logan and Rose for what he believed they did. In the fight that followed Rose tried to break it up but was struck by Logan's claws and died. After that, not being able to live among people for what he did he left the camp and went off into the wilderness to live alone.
Sample: The sun had just started to rise up into the morning sky, when Logan broke through the tree line. He paused for several minutes, senses straining for the slightest hint of trouble. He found nothing but than he hadn't expected any trouble in the first place. He stretched his stocky frame and rose to his full height of 5'3"
"You're nothing but an animal Logan. Professor Xavier shouldn't have ever let you join us."
"Logan, we can't be together. I care about you but I love Scott."
"Logan, we need to talk. I'm concerned for you. These past few months, your behavior has become... erratic. You've come to blows with Scott three times in the last week. The last time you tried to gut him. What is going on? I want to help Logan but if you don’t talk to me, how can I?”
"Hiya Runt. Miss me? Oh, don’t tell me that you’re still upset about the squaw. I did you a favor. I was even nice enough to kill her slowly. Face it, boy, we’re killers.”[/i]
Logan shook his head, trying to force his ghosts free. With a low growl, Logan started to run. He came to a small stream that was flowing in a southern direction and he started to follow it. After nearly twenty minutes of running, he stopped suddenly. One minute he’d been leaping fallen trees and ducking under low branches and the next minute, he was crouched and motionless.
Logan sniffed at the air and detected the faint scent of a black bear. After a few more breaths, he’d determined the general location of the bear. Logan took one final sniff of the scent before continuing his run, even as he adjusted his path to avoid the bear. He’d gone less than a hundred feet when the sound of a gunshot shattered the early morning silence. Several more shots followed in rapid succession.
Logan stopped running and listened. He faintly heard the unmistakable sound of a teenager screaming for help. Without hesitating, he changed his course and started to run all out. The cry for help came again and Logan ran more to the right as he pushed himself to move even faster. Ahead of him, Logan spotted the familiar flash of hunter’s orange. It was a vest worn by a teenage boy. Behind the teenager, a massive shape seemed to surge through the woods in pursuit.
“Get down!!!”
With a flash of pain and an audible snikt, six claws snapped out of Logan’s hands. He leapt over the falling hunter and barreled into the charging bear. The impact stopped the bear in mid stride and the two combatants fell to the ground. Logan rolled away from the bear and regained his feet. The bear levered itself back onto its feet and took several steps towards Logan before rearing up on its hind legs. It swung one clawed paw at Logan’s head but he was able to bring his arm up in time to deflect most of the blow. Even with the blow blocked, Logan was knocked off of his feet.
“You’re really beginning to piss me off, you overstuffed teddy bear!”
Logan regained his feet, his claws reflecting the early morning light. The bear roared at its smaller adversary. It repeated its claw swipe and connected with the side of Logan’s face. The claws dug three deep groves into the side of Logan’s face and punctured his left eye. Instead of being knocked down again, Logan had rolled with the attack and managed to keep his feet under him. Logan punched the claws on his left hand into the bear’s unprotected belly and jerked his hand upwards.
As the claws sliced through bone and muscle, the bear toppled forward, burying its slayer. After a couple of minutes of struggle, Logan was able to pull himself out from under the dead animal. He sat on the ground, his back propped against the bear.
"Hey mister, are you dead?”
Logan didn't answer at first. Instead he reached into his shirt pocket and retrieved a stump of a cigar. With the cigar clamped firmly between his teeth, he finally looked at the kid.
"I ain't dead yet, kid. Gotta light?"
