The Basics
Name: Marie D'Ancanto
Code Name: Rogue
Age: 19
Affiliation: X-Men
Mutant Characteristics:
Mutation:
Rogue has been blessed with the unique ability to instantly absorb another person's physical skills, memories, personality and superhuman abilities or power matrix. Skin to skin contact with another will result in a biophysical shock for the other individual as her body synthesizes all aspects of that lucky person to varying degrees. The transfers effect is directly linked to how long her skin is in contact with theirs, for example one minute of contact with Wolverine would result in an hour of really bad hair and equally dangerous claws that had grown from her hands.
Prolonged contact can result in full absorbtion and such was the case with Carol Danvers, or better known in the right circles at the Lazy Days Extended Care Facility as Jane Doe. Contact with Danvers has given Rogue the ability to fly at subsonic speeds, granted her meta human strength and endurance, and has made her bulletproof. In addition she has a seventh sense which enables her to react instinctively to danger and home in on a specific objects. The Southern spitfire is basically more durable than a week old Krispy Kreme donut but not nearly as sweet.
Manifestations: Only unusual trait to mark her features is the streak of white hair that runs along the top of her head.
Class: 4
The Character
Personality:
To say that she has a temper would be a slight understatement to say the least. To say that she has a stubborn streak as predominate as the white locks cascading over soft brown hair would not be without cause. She also has a good and loyal heart and despite her extroverted personality, she often chooses to hide any overt emotion. Once afraid of her own powers, Rogue now relishes them, well if such a thing can apply to a woman who may never know the intimate touch of another human being.
She can be patient as a saint and giving without a fault. At the same time, those who cross her often never know what hit them. The same high-spirit of fun, and good-natured humor can turn on a dime. The feisty young woman can give the gruff Logan a run for his money if she feels so inclined. At the mansion, everyone knows to leave Rogue alone until she's had at least two cups of coffee. Only then does she begin to resemble a human being, as a few unfortunate souls have discovered quite by accident. She is haunted by the presence of the other soul living inside her head and feels a tremendous amount of guilt because of what has happened.
Physical Description:
Standing at 5'8" tall, Rogue is a stunner though she hasn't always acknowledge that aspect of herself. For the longest time, the young woman avoided all human contact, even going so far as to hide her face beneath a hood. Early versions of her costume carried over the hoodie as well. She has brown hair with a center streak of white and really bad haircuts make the woman resemble a skunk. As a result she usually wears her hair on the long side because that gives her more options and also keeps it out of her face.
She has bright green eyes and a body many women would die to possess, at least until they knew the full story. Rogue likes to dress herself in colors that compliment her eyes and even complexion. Lately she has taken to wearing clothing that accentuates her curves and trim places as she grows more comfortable with who she is. Her X-Men uniforms almost always have some amount of green on them, varying from all green to solid black leather numbers with only the indication of a green 'X' present on the upper body. She likes wearing layered clothes as well and loves soft free flowing fabrics that help to make her feel more feminine.
History:
Rogue grew up in Caldecutt County Mississippi as the child of Owen and Priscilla. She was given a rough education by her aunt Carrie until deciding to run away. As young child living on her own using a nickname she had picked up along the way, Rogue eventually encountered Logan and the two formed a timid bond that grew stronger over the coming years. Her powers had first surfaced on the banks of the Mississippi as she experienced her first kiss with a lovely boy named Cody. The boy was placed into a coma and the image of him being drained dry still haunts her memories to this day.
As she grew up, Rogue continually tested her limits. Always popular with the boys, Rogue tested her control with a second boy, Freddie and like Cody her powers had their effect. However Freddie woke up fine, though Rogue would never speak to the boy again. While Rogue dreamed of having a normal life with a boyfriend and eventually a family of her own, she now knew that a life like that just wasn't in the cards for someone like her. rogue decided then to strike out on her own, leading her to travel far into the frigid North country. It was in a tiny outpost in the snow that she first saw the mutant known as Wolverine. Afraid of the hostility she felt from the humans surrounding her, Marie hid in an attempt to hitch a ride with the feral.
He sniffed her out easily. Starving, frightened and alone the girl eventually convinced him to let her tag along, though neither would admit to needing or wanting each other. Both ended up being assisted by Xavier's X-Men and took up residence in Westchester. Rogue was a key component of the mutant Magneto's plans to alter mankind on Liberty island, a series of events that left her hair streaked with white. Later, rogue would be one of the many who would seek out the cure in an effort to become closer and a 'better' girlfriend to Iceman, Bobby Drake. She returned to the Mansion and to a new life, one in which she was finally able to experience another's loving touch.
Following the events of Alcatraz, Rogue took a position as a nursing assistant in a convalescence home. There she encountered a certain comatose patient simply known to the staff as Jane Doe. The blond bombshell was in her early twenties and her youth and beauty soon captured Rogue's attention. The teen-aged former mutant (She was cured, wasn't she?) felt a certain kinship with the older woman and took it upon herself to spend much of her time reading to the comatose patient or otherwise trying to reach her. Marie felt guilty that for the first time in her life she had everything that she wanted and this poor woman was stuck in a bed slowly dying day by day.
Rogue had already gone for two treatments to maintain her dormant X gene and was two weeks away from her next booster shot. when one afternoon she took Carol Danvers pale hand in hers. That moment changed both their lives forever. No longer used to being forced to control her mutation, rogue was unprepared for the onslaught of memory and power that raged through her system. Her own body suffered a form of the biophysical shock formerly reserved for her victims. She passed out at the side of the woman's bed. It was not until Danvers flatlined several moments later that the two were seperated. Rogue inadvertently absorbed one of the orderlies until he was quickly ripped away from her dangerous skin.
Rogue was fired as soon as she woke up. Confused, disoriented and feeling as if she was going mad, Rogue fled the scene, even taking to the skies to fly for the first time. Without the powerful telepaths like Xavier and Jean around to teach her to control the Danvers persona, Rogue struggles daily to keep the other person inside her head at bay. Her relationship with Iceman has suffered as well, once able to enjoy the touch her boyfriend Rogue is no longer satisfied with its absence. That more than anything has strained her more than anything else. With the Cure now seemingly a thing of the past, Rogue can only take life day by day. Recently, she has begun coursework in Law in an effort to further better herself.

"Damnit!"
CRASH.
The hefty law doctrine came through the window of the Dean's office at breakneck speed. This was followed by another rally of books, all ending up heaped in a neat little pile out on the grass beyond the sidewalk that ran along the building made of brick and stone. The hallowed halls of this institution of learning had known student outbreaks before. And this man's office has felt the brunt of many before her, though perhaps with less physical damage. Studying law was an endeavor not taken lightly and the hard nosed professor was widely known for making sure every first year student got that point clearly.
However not many of his students were girls from Caldecutt County, Mississippi with firey tempers and brown hair with an unlikely streak of white. Angry green eyes peered down at him over a bunched up nose as the young woman known as Rogue to her friends, and enemies, jutted out her hip as he shoe tapped against the wooden floor boards. It was high summer and the woman was covered from neck to ankle in a creme colored linen suit with a magenta camisole beneath it for some color. The magenta looked good with those sparkling eyes, you see. Eyes that had the older man quaking in his penny loafers.
"Anna Maire...now just calm down."
The same eyes that had stared down random meglomanic number 497 last night and once again managed to barely escape utter destruction and in the process save the world. A world that at the moment the young woman was tempted to tell to go to Hades, but she was no quitter. She bit her lower lip and leaned over the desk, placing oddly gloved hands at it's mahogany edges, "Why won't ya let me make up the test, professor? Ah swear ah got a good reason. Ah swear Ah do."
"Why can't you tell me where you where yesterday? Or last Tuesday for that matter? The study of Law, Anna, is not to be taken lightly, nor sporadically."
"Ah don' take it lightly, sir. Ah, don't," She offered after glancing at the broken window with a sigh. Ah can't very well tell him Ah was fightin' the a bad guy last week and that last night I flew a nuclear war head into the upper atmosphere to save his happy ass. Her fingers moved across the top of the desktop as if she were playing piano keys, "Well, then Ah'll just have to do better next time. Won't I?" The window, the books, the embarrassing tantrum...
"Ah'll pay ya for the damage Ah done, how much?"
