Kelly had gone to sleep early the friday night after a long day at the gym making sure everything was perfect for the championships the next day. Kelly was more then nervous she tossed and turned and finally fell into a deep sleep. She woke up the next morning at like 5:30 am and went and took a nice long shower relaxing before the afternoon's events.
She shuffled threw her drawrs and decided not to get completly ready yet. So she threw on a pair of short black shorts that said tumble in white letters across the butt and a black sports bra. It was ok for her to walk around the mansion in shorts and a black sports bra becouse it looked good on her. She had a nice toned stomach and nice toned legs there wasent an ounce of fat any where on her. She took out her wrist braces and slipped them on along with a knee brace and she wrapped her ankle in an ace bandage making sure the wrap some blue medical tape around the top so it didnt come undone while she was tumbling.
She had her hair up in a messy bun ontop of her head and was doing her make up. Thick black cat eyes with neon green eye shadow and sparkles on her eyes and lips. Cuse her long sleved leotard was sparkly and neon green. She slipped on a pair of white running shoes after putting on her black knee high socks that had white skulls on them.
As she was walking threw the halls in her sports bra and shorts rolling her eyes at the noises and gestures the guys where sending her way. Some one thought it might be funny to walk up behind Kelly and pour a half bucket full of chocolate sauce on her.
Kelly scrunched her nose as she felt the cold sticky chocolate cover her hair and face shoulders and every thing. Why did this have to happen to her only two hours before she was supposed to compete? She shook her head and ran slipping a bit on her chocolate coverd shoes into the kitchen where she grabed a towel and whiped off her face a little and started to cry standing there coverd in chocolate on the day when she was supposed to go win first place.

Warren was out for a morning flight before his college classes began. Flying kept his body in top form and it was warm today so he was really enjoying the feel of the sun on his wings. It warmed his entire body, the feathers and hollow fletchettes acting as solar collectors for his body. He turned in the air as he soured through a bevy of doves. They scattered giving him the impression they would have done double takes if they were able. He smiled. Life was good in the air.
He passed over Salem Centre and checked the time represented by the clock tower over the square. It was time for him to get back. The Angel wiped through the air, his wings forming a wide, quick shadow on the earth beneath him. He pushed himself enjoying the feel of the wind wiping against his skin. He wasn't clocking himself but he guessed he was going nearly three hundred miles an hour. He flew over the lake behind the School and smiled before slowing himself over the surface of the water and going vertical to finally stop in mid air.
He flew to the terrace behind the kitchen and landed, his winged shadow casting a familiar shadow in the doorway as he stepped inside. He spotted Kelly at the sink with a towel and...a fair bit of chocolate sauce, "Where are the strawberries when I need them?" He walked up to the refrigerator and took out a bottle of orange juice and popped the top. Warren ran a finger along the girl's shoulder and placed it between his lips, "Umm, nice."

Kelly was in the process of getting the towel wet and whipping off the chocolate from her face and hair and wiping the tears from her cheeks. She noticed the shadow on the wall cast by Warren and couldn't help but smile at what he said.
"Bottom Drawer in the fridge if you want some." She said laughing a little. He always managed to make her smile when she was upset. Kelly looked at the clock and that just brought her into a whole new set of tears. She was never going to be able to clean up and make it across town in an hour and a half.
Why was this always happening to Kelly. She continued wiping the chocolate from her stomach and she just wound up throwing the towel in the sink. She looked at her chocolate coverd sports bra and her short black chocolate coverd shorts. This so wasn't fare.

"Whats wrong?" He asked, only noticing the tears when she turned to face him. He couldn't figure out why she was upset, he could think of far worse things than a pretty girl covered in chocolate. He was about to offer to help her clean up by licking it off her but he stopped himself. She really was upset and it didn't appear to be simple vanity at having the sticky, if not yummy, substance dumped on her.
He took a moment to look her over as his mind worked, "Just a sec, Kel." He reached into the bottom drawer and took out a pint of the fresh berries. He rinsed one in the running water of the faucet and then shook off the water. He ran the plump berry along a spot of skin she hadn't cleaned and lifted it to her mouth, "Its not lemon, but don't they always say to make the best of any given situation?"
He leaned back against the cabinets and crossed his arms, "So whats so wrong that a quick shower won't fix? Hmm?

Kelly couldn't help but laugh a little again. She smiled and took a bite of the Berry and made a little face "I don't taste good....I was supposed to go compete in the championships today....If I placed top 3 then I got a chance to go to worlds if I placed top 3 there then I would get to go to the Olympics." She said sighing as she took off her wrist braces. "I'm a gymnast." She said nodding to her out fit of short shorts and a sports bra.
"It starts in less then 2 hours Id have enough time to take a quick shower get dressed and do my hair and make up but not make it across town." She said sighing as she crossed her arms turning her back to the counter leaning against it. "All that work for nothing I guess." She said tucking a piece of chocolate coverd blond hair behind her ear.
She drug her finger across her shoulder and wiped it on his cheek a little. "You got a little something on you're face." She said smiling. She didn't feel like crying any more she just decided to give up unless he could come up with something better.

"You got a little something on you're face."
"Thanks," Warren said with a smile as he wiped away the chocolate from his face. It really was sticky but he was glad to see that she was at least smiling. Well, at least she was no longer crying. It was a start and miles better than where she had been a moment ago. He took a wet cloth and wiped his face clean as he listened to what she said.
He wondered why she was upset with two hours left and all she needed to do was get dressed, take a shower and get across town. Well, we were talking about New York City, so maybe she had a right to be worried. Perhaps though there was something he could do to help. It was much faster to fly above the traffic than to try and get through it. "I think you forget who you are talking to, Kel," he said proudly as he crossed his arms over his wide chest.
"I could get you across town in about five minutes, but that might mess up your hair," he considered another option and reached for his razor phone and dialed, "Let me see if there is another, more hair friendly way to fly."
"Jason, I need you to gas up the helicopter and bring it out to me in Westchester. I'll then need to get a friend into the city for a gymnastics meet. She's Olympic caliber and her future depends on getting her there in an hour and a half."
"You can, fantastic. See you then, thank you," Warren snapped off the phone and turned to Kelly, "Your ride will be here in an hour, got get ready and meet me down here. don't worry, we'll get you to the meet."

Kelly's face lit up and she smiled. "Thanks Warren youre the best." She said thinking. She wanted to hug him but she didnt want to get him all chocolaty so she stood on her tippy toes and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek leaving behind a lip shaped chocolate print. She ran out of the kitchen slipping on her chocolate coverd shoes.
She ran into her bed room and grabbed a towel and her cloths and ran into the bathroom. About 15 minutes later she finally got all the chocolate out of her blonde hair and off her bodie. She changed into a black leotard that was sparkly and had silver moons and stars. She slipped on a pair of black short shorts and ran into her bed room. She fixed her make up so she had thick black eye liner on and silver eye shadow that sparkled and sparkly red lip gloss. Her make up looked grate. She wrapped her ankle in an ace bandage and wrapped medical tape above it so it stuck. She slipped on her knee brace and wrist braces and put her hair up with a black scrunchy in a messy bun ontop of her head. She slipped on a pair of socks and another pair of white tennis shoess and ran down with her duffle bag full of the stuff she needed to Warren.
"Ok Im ready." She said smiling. She pulled off the Rocker gymnast look perfectly. She slipped on a pair of Black warm up pants and a black kinda tight zip up jacket that had her gyms name on the back and she slipped her duffle bag around her shoulder.

"OK, awesome," Warren opened the door to the kitchen and pointed to the waiting helicopter/ He looked back at her and smiled, "You look great but you will need something, hold on." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a scarf. He had watched his father do the same thing for him mother many times when they flew away from the family's summer estate in the Hamptons. He carefully placed the scarf loosely over her hair and wrapped it carefully around her neck, "This will protect all of your hard work. The hair looks perfect, the copter's blades really toss the air around."
He lead her out beneath the spinning metal and climbed into the egg shaped glass cockpit after her, "Lets go, Jason."
Soon they were flying high above the tree tops enroute to the city. Green leafy trees gave way to man made forms as the skyscrapers came into view. Warren could see well beyond the buildings to the harbor and beyond but he kept that to himself. He tolerated this method of flight, his own wings the preferable method. The copter turned beneath the all too noisy propellers.
Soon they were landing on one of the hotel roofs near the convention center were Kelly was to be competing soon. They had made good time. She was there a good thirty minutes early. She seemed to have enjoyed the flight as well, or maybe she was just happy to be getting to her meet. Whatever the case Warren was glad to have done her the favor. He propped open the door and waved her onward, "Go on girl, kick some gymnast ass."

Kelly smiled when he wrapped the scarf around her hair and her neck and walked out getting the the choper. Man this rocked nothing like showing up to a meet in a chopper. She was streching a little in the chopper and was happy when they landed.
She grabed her duffle bag makeing sure she had all the crap she needed. "Do you wanna come?" She thought it would be fun if he came but if he didnt want to come then she wasent going to make him come.

"You go ahead. You've earned this spotlight all for yourself," Warren replied as he pulled the glass door closed, "Where I go trouble seems to follow."
He waved to her as the pilot prepared for take off. He hoped she would do well, but he was honest with her in that where he went the paparazzi were always relentless. Besides he wasn't dressed for public life. His wings were fully visible even when compressed against his back and he didn't have a harness with him. He felt bad for leaving her alone but it really was for the best.
The copter lifted off and he watched her as long as he could see the building, which was for more than a mile. He was a little out of sorts today. He had a meeting with someone he'd just met at the Hellfire Club tonight. The man's name was Rand O'Neill. The unsettling thing was that was all he knew beyond a few basic facts that couldn't be verified. Warren's father's men were good. It was rare that a request for information came up so empty. He was intrigued, though. It took a lot of power to remain an enigma in today's world.
The craft turned out over the bay passing by the Statue of Liberty. Warren always enjoyed seeing it. It was a sign of liberty and justice and if he were honest, his first recognition of the X-Men. Trish Tilby had captured a few shadowy pictures of the mutant he now knew to be Storm or rather Ororo Munroe in action. The one known as Magneto had been arrested too. That was a big deal as he remembered it, of course he couldn't know that he would one day wear the same uniform. Soon he would be home at his family's estate on Long Island. He kept better clothes there. He wanted to look good for his meeting tonight. Somehow he felt it was going to be important.
